Sam attended his first KidsCamp! in July 2004. We were very impressed with his abilities as a dog handler and as a group leader and supporter. The decision to invite Sam to attend as a Junior counselor was made with very little discussion! Sam was a true asset for our August camp.
We look forward to watching Sam grow and do great things with his life.

The Lower Adirondack Search and Rescue (LASAR) team joined us one afternoon for a demonstration. These dogs are trained to find missing people.
KidsCamp! is a great place to meet new friends. The dogs think so too!

A visit from the veterinarian is always a great time. Looking at x-rays and things in jars, and the time we sewed up beanie baby animal Teaching your dog agility is the best part. That's what ALL the kids say!

The weather was great! Not a drop of rain to delay or cancel our schedule.

In addition to training on the field, we also had several visitors: Bob and Amos demonstrated tracking while Elizabeth and Jeep offered a demonstration of Search and Rescue. The kids participated in both activities.

Wendy explained how she learned to handle Karma, a German Shepherd Dog with fear problems. The kids participated in a discussion on how to recognize fear, how to behave and handle this type of dog and what not to do.

A team of 8 vets assisted Dr Lisa
Dr Lisa Pokawitz, DVM, talked about health and medical care of dogs and let the kids apply sutures to her stuffed bear.

And the last day, Bill Murphy came in to judge the KidsCamp! Canine Good Citizen test. All the dogs passed the test.

At the end of camp parents came in to watch a presentation put on by the kids and their dog showing off what they learned during the week incorporating obedience, agility, tricks and freestyle (dancing with their dogs).
