Board 'n Train

This program was developed for the dog and owner that may require a one on one format.

Theresa's home and business share the same five acres in Malta. Your dog will be socialized with people and dogs spending a portion of their day in doggy daycare. While living and being trained at Mahogany Ridge your dog will be taking trips to the bank, dog park or maybe even take in a drive-in movie!

"It's all about balance" as Theresa puts it.

The choice of leaving your dog for two or three weeks with a trainer is not for everyone, nor is it for every dog. This is just one many training options.

Some dogs come into the program just needing to: be house trained (potty trained), or to learn how to ride in the car without helping the driver.   Some dogs need to learn: not to jump on people at the door, to come when called or to understand the element of self control.

Basic commands are taught and/or reinforced during the first few days then it is on to off leash recalls, barking issues or socialization, it is a very individual program.

The time frame is left up to the owner.  Much of the training can be accomplished in the first two weeks.  Often times dogs will stay a third week to cement particular behaviors that have been modified.

Dog Of the Month
February 2007

"Dixie Blue " Dixie is a 3 year old All American dog! She lives with doggy sister McKenzie in Malta and is loved and trained by Susan Veach. She has successfully completed many levels of obedience and agility. Dixie was also seen strutting her stuff in Freestyle and Fundamentals last season and if you were to ask Dixie Blue she would say the Flyball class that she took with Jen was by far her favorite!! Dixie made her debut in the agility ring last year and has never come home without a placement ribbon! Yeah! Her favorite daycare friend is Brooklyn, I think they are related!
