Sabine Compeyn Being an only child, Sabine has always had a dog as her companion. After she married, she switched to a cat, but two years later it was decided she needed to have a dog again. At the time she was living in Africa and adopted a mongrel named Zaria who returned with them to their home in Belgium (and later to the U.S.) where she lived happily until the age of 14. |

|
Another trip came up, to Asia this time, and she adopted a cat (no way could she have a dog in a high rise over there) but as soon as she came back, she adopted two rescue dogs - Pluto and Senji. This time, Sabine became interested in both dog training and nutrition. Senji, her challenging dog, has helped her go deeper in dog behavior and body language. Sabine participates yearly at Dog Training Camp/Instructor School, attends the annual Holistic Conference for a Healthy Dog and Advanced Holistic Study Groups (by the Volhards). |
|
A mother of three (now adult) children, she has always loved activities with children. Theresa found a way to tap into several of Sabine's interests by inviting her to be an instructor at KidsCamp! Sabine lives in South Carolina and is looking forward to the drive up to New York to spend another full week with the kids and their dog-companions. |

Cathy Keenan
Cathy Keenan first began competing in dog obedience when she was 10 years old with her Standard Poodle Missy. Since then she has put several obedience titles on multiple dogs including a UD. She has also dabbled in field work, herding and lure coursing. Her involvement in agility began in the early 90's at Volhard Training camp and Mahogany Ridge. Cathy's first agility dog was #2 in the country for non-sporting breeds. Her second dog was the #1 dog in the US for all breeds in Jumpers with Weaves.
Her current dogs have also been nationally ranked. Sailor a standard poodle and Flint a border collie are retired from agility. Flint has remained active in obedience and is adding Rally to his list of accomplishments. Currently she is running a rescued border collie aptly named Fidget. After a year off due to injury, Fidget is back working towards his USDAA ADCH and AKC Open titles. Her latest training challenge is a smooth coated border collie puppy named Blade.
Agility has really changed from the "early" days and to keep up with these changes Cathy continues to work with internationally known agility handlers (Susan Garrett, Linda Mecklenburg, Nancy Gyes, Monica Percival, Gregg Derrett to name a few). She believes in a positive attitude and a motivational approach for both people and their dogs. Cathy wants everyone to love agility as much as she and her boys do!
